What do ethical designers think of when designing a product?
Designers have to think about ethics and ethical dilemma's from both the consumer and industry point of view. They have a huge responsibility because their work impacts communities and environments. The moral interests of the following have to be taken into consideration:
-
Personal
-
Company
-
Design Community
-
Society

In conclusion a designer is ethical if they are ready and able to meet with the wants and needs of all four groups mentioned above.
Here (right) is a Venn diagram showing the overlapping of the designers considerations as illustated by Charles Eames, showing the difficulties designers go through to create a successful product.
An ethical designers solution would be within the overlapping area (see note 4), And so Eames encourages enthusiasm for a solution in that area.
An ethical designer is a designer who considers morals and integrity as part of their design solution.
